Yolanda
Thanks to the loan Yolanda requested a few months ago, she was able to increase her business inventory. With the capital, she was able to purchase more merchandise, and thanks to good cash management, she bought a sewing machine. Yolanda wants to have a more formal business, hire employees, and be able to make more garments and generate more income.
Seven women, along with Yolanda, form the Puente de Amistad Community Bank called "Estrellas de Chicaxul." Yolanda and the other women speak the Mayan K'iche' language and little Spanish. Thanks to the monthly talks they receive, they have been able to improve and better manage their businesses: hand sewing, selling casual clothing, underwear, socks, and garment manufacturing.
